This is the 6th segment to be released, and won 2nd place in the competition.
In the year 1948, Alice is sitting at a counter in a local diner in Philadelphia to wait for a "friend". The waitress Betty offers her food and drink, which she politely refuses, then compliments that she will have a beautiful baby, much to Betty's surprise and delight.
Hearing a click from the door, she turns around to see Jasper walk in. Alice immediately joins him at a table to introduce herself. Jasper, despite not knowing who she is, politely apologizes for keeping her waiting. He realizes instantly that she is not human, but also finds her behavior intriguing. Her ability to see the future and cheerful attitude take him in; he had lived in a life of carnage and death for a good amount of years. They converse for several minutes as they get to know each other. Betty occasionally asks them if they want anything to eat, but they politely decline. Jasper encourages that there is plenty of "food" in the diner. Alice tells him about her vegetarianism, slipping that her "future family" practices the same diet. Jasper is impressed with her sixth sense. Alice corrects that her ability only allows her to see glimpses of possibilities. Jasper then questions whether or not he was a possibility. Alice shakes her head, saying she decided on him a long time ago.
He asks what happens next. Alice replies that is up to him. Just then, Betty drops some plates. Alice and Jasper turn to look and see a cut on her finger. Jasper sees the blood and immediately charges at her while Alice runs after him. The scene turns out to be Alice's vision. She kisses Jasper just as Betty drops some plates, managing to avoid the catastrophe. A moment later, he tells her that he feels an emotion that he had not felt in a long time: hope.
Outside in the raining street, Jasper asks where they will go from here, and Alice suggests that he takes a walk with her. Jasper happily complies. The segment ends with them touring around the city in the night, now completely in love and enjoying each other's company.
