I just finished watching a really great vampire movie. It's called "The Thompson's" and it's about a vampire family. The parents are dead...the story doesn't go into detail about how they were killed...but that leaves the children to live on their own. The ages range of the kids (4 boys, 1 girl) are early twenties to early teens. There are five siblings and the eldest is David, then there's the fraternal twins, Wendell & Darlene, then Frances, and Lennie. Frances, who is a boy in his late teens tells the story. They all got into trouble when they were at a gas station that was held up...the vampire siblings had to kill the bad guys as well as the good guys to get away unknown. Unfortunately, they were filmed and had to skip the country. Th…

So...Whatever became of Bella's cactus? While it wasn't in the book, it was at the beginning of Twilight. She held it until she got to her room in Forks, then she puts it down. But I wonder whatever became of it? It wasn't in her and Edward's little cottage....at least I didn't see it. Maybe Kristen stole it?

“Grasshopper Jungle” is two for one. On one level, it is a darkly comic story about the end of the world. The book’s narrator and protagonist — 16-year-old Austin Szerba, of the fictional town of Ealing, Iowa — accidentally unleashes an infestation of six-foot-tall praying mantises, products of a scientific experiment gone kookily awry. These HUGE insects are practically indestructible and only desire two things: ONE: Procreate; TWO: Eat anything in sight.

On another level, “Grasshopper Jungle” is a novel about adolescence. Like most teenage boys, Austin fairly vibrates with pubescent energy and blunderbuss desires; still a virgin, he fantasizes endlessly about sex.

I've NEVER read a book even remotely like this one. But it's extremely good …

    THE BOOK THIEF

    March 10, 2014 by TwilightReaderFan

I usually post when I've read a wonderful story. I recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zuzak. It was one of the best books I've read, and very different from other books. The story is being told by Death. Yes, Death, is a character and is telling the story. It's about a young girl living in Nazi Germany...although she is not a Jew. But the story was brilliant and I fell in love with all the characters. If you can stand a saddish book, then I'd highly recommend it. If it's not at your library...you can find it posted online at several reading sites.

    Great Vampire Movie

    February 26, 2014 by TwilightReaderFan

I just watched a vampire movie called, "The Wisdom of Crocodiles." It can also be found under the name "Immortality." It was really different from other Vampire stories. There's only one vampire and he's played by Jude Law. Like Twilight, the vampire can go out into the sun...but he can also eat and drink...smoke. It was very good and unusual so I do recommend it. You can watch it for free at Putlocker. The vampire searches and finds his own "Bella" - but this vampire definitely isn't Edward.
