My. Name. Is. Puddinginthesky. You can call me Pudding.?

Jasper is my absolute favoritest character in the whole saga. He's epic and sex-ah and your favorite. could. never.

I love Adventure Time with Finn and Jake.

I've read every book in the series except for the second graphic novel. There are reasons.

I loved all of the movies except for Twilight.

Catherine Hardwicke is a bad lady.

Eclipse and BDP2 are my favorite of the films.?

Eclipse is my favorite book.

I believe all of the books are horribly written, but the plot is pretty okay.?

I hate Bella.

Where is the love! I mean, where are the classics?

Today's subject is simple. We live in a world where it is now impossible to write a classic. Perhaps it is due to the lack of manners and ettiquette? Maybe because today's young folk are to corrupted to value good literature. Which makes me very sad.

I know Twilighters are very cultured and well read people, who savor classics and bits of good lit when they see it.

cough*disputable*cough*

My friend and I were talking about how eventually, the classics will be seen only in museums, and only a minority of the youth will appreciate it and hold onto the practice of reading for fun. So, we were inspired to write a book, which is currently in the works. It's basically about a site where books are the topic, and a select ensemble cast share bits of their lives, because they are abnormal and refuse to succumb to The Technology Overload Age, or as they know it, The Dead Literature Age.

But, yeah, what my point is, is that literature is an important thing. Good lit is hard to create, and it saddens me that so much garbage gets the praise it does. Steph, I'm lookin' at you.

QUESTION TIME, MA HOMIES:

What's your favorite book? Why?

What's you favorite character?

Do you have a character of your own that (you're proud of and) wanna tell me about?

What's you opinion on this literature period? What would you name it?

And, finally, how do you like your curly fries? *laughs*

Kay, thanks everyone. Sorry about the sarcasm deficit....

Regarding stuff. Yah. So, anyway, I was so confused when I began thinking about these things. Please, help me.

Read the words in *asterisks* with an British accent.

Does Alice have *three families?*

Why did Stephenie Meyer admit to not developing her characters for the sake of self insertion fantasy? Doesn't she know that's sort of a bad thing?

Why is Bella so *selectively self centered?* Everything is about her.

Okay, who would win in a fight? Bella or Sookie? Pre-Breaking Dawn, of course. Again, didn't specify what kind of fight... Verbal? Physical? EMOTIONAL? Mental? All four?

What makes Stephenie compare her characters to those of Wuthering Heights?

Is New Moon really necessary? As it seems most....*boring to some*?

Why does Bella take saftey precautions for her jumps, as in remembering what she learned about diving? If she's being stupid, why bother?

Do Twilight fans enjoy any other vampire related books? What are these books?

Why do Stephenie Meyer's vampires sparkle and have no fangs? Were they intended as faeries?

Is Stephenie Meyer aware of her Mary Sue main characters? Not just in Twilight, mind you?

Does Bella excuse Edward's behavior and shortcomings because she isn't strong enough to face them? Sookie provoked this thought... Is it true?

Is Bella actually how Stephenie Meyer wished she looked...?

Why do none of the characters gets as irritated with Bella's lack of brain and personality as us readers?

Why weather? Why? Why so many reference to freaking weather. Weather this, weather that, blah blah blah.

Is there a reason why Bella describes everything so fully?

How do you chuckle darkly...?

Other people hear Bella's heartbeat... Should she, maybe, go to a hospital or something? *Maybe stay there*? Forever, if that's *not too much to ask*?

How can Bella see a room if lights *are blinding her*?

Do tears usually make noise when they flow down your face? Like, do Bella's make *an obnoxious* "errrrccchhhh" scraping noise? Is that why she says the tears flowed noiselessly down her cheek?

Can you have noise in silence? Bella says the last note hung poignantly in the silence...? Is this possible, or did it just break the silence and she was *too stupid* to phrase it right?

Is Bella really so boring that in the meadow Edward just says "Oh, you do...whatever...and I'll just sing to myself. La da da da da la da da da..." ?

Does Bella sound like a baritone man? And, how does she catch herself whistling?

How the....How do you groan internally? Would it not make a sound anyway?

So, of those three things she was so certain about, she only had proof for like..one...so the rest is nill and doesn't count, right?

WHAT ON EARTH does velvet even sound like? Bella loves using it. On that note, what does furious velvet sound like?

Bella....she gets so excited over...weather. "Oh, bright light shining through my window! It's the sun." Nah, durp. Why is she so...Why?

How the heck can hair be "bronze"? Is it like encased in a bronze cast or what? Seriously, Ed, don't wash your hair with that stuff....Not sure that's possible...Liquid bronze...Liquid topaz..? Anyways, how?

Why does Bella insist on making every one of her realizations so...exaggerated? It took her forever to realize Jacob's hand was, in fact, not a rock. What the heck?

Why does Bella always overexplain everything? Like how Jacob's eye was wet due to rain, or how the clouds moved because of yadayadayada?

Why does Stephenie Meyer decorate her sentences with extravagent and improper punctuation?

Why does no one consider Emily as the vicitim of her being mauled - accidentally, mind you - by Sam? Surely not due to her recklessness, as no one jumps on Bella about hers.

How does Sam give Bella advice that no one else considers, and then she completely forgets/ignores it for the rest of forever?

Where is the logic? Did it go to store and never come back, or has it been absent all along?

So, if Bella unlocked the door with her trembling anf grateful fingers, does that make the rest of her hand indignant?

If Emmett and Jasper took care of James, doesn't that technically make Rosalie and Alice targets along with Bella?

Stephenie Meyer explains Jacob is okay with cursing...Bella...not so much. Amazing what the ellipsis can do, right?

Does Stepheneie *Meyer understand the usage of commas*?

Why do both of Bella's love interests cause her to - at some point, or two, or three - feel like a child or a baby?

Why is it that when you *dissect certain sentences*, use the comma/dash placement as a guide, and rearrange them, they make no sense?

Why does Bella contradict herself on a single page? (298, New Moon, I believe)

Why does every male character seem *so infactuated with Bella*? *Nearly every single one*. Why?

Why did Stephenie make it so that Jacob imprinted on the one thing he hated the most? The thing which ripped his world apart and sybolized the loss of a dear and close friend?

THIS (found herehttp://reasoningwithvampires.tumblr.com/ ): Can I just say thank you for this blog? Because really. I mean, I knew (after reading all four books myself in a sort of fascinated horror) that the series was poorly-written, but seeing you delve into the badness at this level of detail is just stunningly eye-opening. It's like there's a horrific car crash and you can't look away, and then you go up to the wreckage afterwards and start picking through it and HOLY CRAP, there was a TRAIN WRECK and an AIRPLANE CRASH and a BIZARRE GARDENING ACCIDENT happening INSIDE the car all along before the violent explosions on the freeway even started, and you had no idea, and also you thought that there were people sitting in the car who might be injured or dead now but actually the passengers aren't people they're massive chewing spider crabs who are very much alive and filled with rage towards the world and the human race and things are SO MUCH WORSE THAN YOU THOUGHT. And your blog is the crowbar that wrenches the mutilated car door off its smoking hinges and exposes all of this. So thank you. Thank you thank you and now I have to run from the chewing spidercrabs goodbye.

Anyone care to critique the following abstract pieces? It is to be a part of a book, a prologue if you will. Whatcha think?

~*~*~*~

Sword against sword, the cold wind swirling the snow flurries around. As beautiful and majestic as this scene appeared, it was fueled by livid rage and furious tenacity. Like two equal forces, forever doomed to fight fist to fist till the sheer weight of them both crushed all their combined energy. Blood splatter covered the previously white and pristine snow. Muddy ruts had been dug into the ground by the force of boots, digging heel first into the ground as they tried valiantly to hold their ground. Both were more than eager to deliver the death blow. Roaring forces, like blinding light and sonic shrieks of echoing sounds swirled about, destroying all in their paths. The battle carried on, completely untouched by time or space, within the writhing death cyclone. The energy of the battle would soon begin to wan though, and one force’s stamina would surely falter…and at that precise moment, the other’s energy and raving emotions would come smashing, sucking the life, and utterly destroying the other with a mixture of force and momentum.

~*~*~*~

Life in it’s pure mystery is a whirlwind ride to live on. We find ourselves baffled by the actions and emotions of humanity, including our own. If a vagabond sheds a tear for the prince, and the emperor lends a hand to the lowly street urchin, would we still consider it human to declare war on them the very next day? I think so. Ungrateful, yet so. Careless, yet cautious. Beautiful, but ugly. Think not of what you wish to do, but what you will do. We are gifted with humanity, intelligence, and the ability to believe and hope. Let us not waste the gifts. As a lone soldier, march for your destiny. As a member of a single body, march to fate. The beauty of being human..? Having the mind for choice and change, of course.

Okay, so remember how I totally and utterly DESPISE Edward Cullen? Like, with a fiery passion? And how I gave reasons?

Well, I don't anymore. *gasps of shock*

Yeah, I decided I don't. He had potential. Potential to be as awesome as his brother, as the Volturi, as Carlisle, as the Romanians, and countless others. But, his creation was an epic fail. And, that's not his fault. I see what Stephenie was going for, too bad she's just not that skilled. Really sad. I mean, it's soooo difficult to create the type of character she was after with him. I get that. But, it's unacceptable. And to see that so many completely missed this epic fail...Sad.

See, to craft this type of character takes the ability to make them do things you don't like, and to make them become a real person. Like, to be able to say, "If this guy was real, he would so kill me" or "If he was a real person, the world would reach a new level of awesome". You have to get into their head, to torturer them with things you KNOW they hate then give them a reprieve, a reward.

I like when my characters pull against the plot. Gosh, it's so fun. They take on this "WAAM" personality. Edward Cullen doesn't strike me as real. There's the problem. He's so...fake. His traits fall flat, he's so 2D. But, like how he was going to eat Bella. His love for her is but a plot device, I realize. In another world, he'd have eaten her and THAT would have been a plot device.

So, let me toss you this idea. Say he bit her, nearly drained her, then his better judgement took over and he couldn't kill her? Like, he was stuck with a vampire of his own creation, an accident. Then we see them fall in love (if she had a personality, I mean) and then complications arise, etc, etc. Yeah.

Anyways, I mean there's a horizon of possibilities for Edward. I don't see him as he was in the books anymore. He's totally OOC in my mind. It's funner. Emmett and Jasper are his BFFs, Bella's...there, and he treats Nessie like, well, he doesn't.

So, Steph, I see what you did there. Just don't do it again. Ever.

Oh, btw, thank you, so much, Steph. You gave us a world that I just kinda mess with for fun. That's awesome.

So, I was wondering, do you consider Edward Cullen to be a Byronic Hero? Do you believe he belongs among the ranks of characters such as Edward Rochester, Mr. Heathcliff (writing Heathcliff Heathcliff is almost as stupid as saying it...wait...), Claude Frollo, Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, and countless others? Does he seem like a hero, even? Could you sleep peacefully after labeling him as one of the angsy, tortured, arrogant, complex, mysterious characters....or refusing to?

Check out the characteristics of a Byronic Hero:

a strong sense of arrogance

high level of intelligence and perception

cunning and able to adapt

suffering from an unnamed crime

a troubled past

sophisticated and educated

self-critical and introspective

mysterious, magnetic and charismatic

struggling with integrity

power of seduction and sexual attraction

social and sexual dominance

emotional conflicts, bipolar tendancies, or moodiness

a distaste for social institutions and norms

being an exhile, an outcast, or an outlaw

disrespect of rank and privilege

jaded, world-weary

cynicism

self-destructive behavior

So, go on and say, "OF COURSE! THE TRAITS ARE ALL THERE!"

Now, I ask another question...: Did Stephenie Meyer succeed in creating a Byronic Hero, or did she fail? Is he truly gripping and forces you to hate him sometimes, love him others? Does he captivate you, yet make you question why you even read about him? Does he seem...softer....or rougher?

Also, could you kindly give me examples of the following, either in the serious or not. (they can simply give off an air of fitting the type):

Anti-hero

Tragic Hero

Romantic Hero

Reluctant Hero

Now, go forth, my friends, and reflect.

P.S.,

What does that make Jacob...? (haha)

Kay, so I was thinking about the didn't-happen-but-should-have-and-was-replaced-with-some-lackluster-crap fight scene.

So, we all wanted it. Steph obviously avoided it so she didn't have to kill anyone *cough*wimp*cough* *gag* So, yeah. I decided to list who I think'll live, and why.

*Emmett: He'd have a scary "close call", probably with Felix who at the last minutes has a heart and lets him go. He'd put up a heck of a fight, though.
*Rosalie: Come on. This is ROSALIE. She' kick butt, obviously. IF she did die, it'd be saving Esme.

Jasper: He was made for fighting. 'Nuff said.

Alice: Jasper wouldn't let her die, and she wouldn't let herself die regardless.

Carlisle or Esme: One dies. The other vows to live in their memory. I figure if Esme died she'd make a big scene out of choking out the words "I love you all.." whilst the flames licked her flesh. Carlisle'd do about the same.

Aro, Caius, and Marcus: Cause life ain't fair and body guards are quite effective.

Chelsea: Turns out to be a heck of a fighter.

Corin: Weirdos usually live for some logic bending reason.

Felix: DUH.

Demetri: He'd flee. Swiftly. With the elders.

Jane: Survives by escaping. After she kills someone with her bare hands, of course.

Athenodora: Sacrifices Sulpicia for herself. She's Caius' LadySelf.

Tanya, Kate, and Garrett: Flee with the Maggie and Benjamin and his mate.

A few other nomads like Alistair and the Eygyptians: WIMPS.

And ma wolfie frands: Jacob valiantly fights for Renesmee's life (cause he's just...urgh.) and eventually is dragged away by Embry and Sam. Quil perishes honorably and Paul gives his life saving Leah, who in turn saves Sam. Seth is severly injurd but survives. Collin gets bitten and dies. Brady ran off, scared. Jared got his legs crushed by Felix and had to be dragged away, too.

Did I mention Edward is killed and Bella looses her concentration trying to save him? She attacks Felix, and is killed by Heidi, effectively ending his crush on Bella. Ooh, and Nessie is TAKEN BY THE VOLTURI. Who knows how they'll dispose of her. Mwa hahahaha.

Kay, give me some feedback, plz. And your own opinions on the matter.

The Iliad

The Odyssey

The Picture of Dorian Gray

The Great Gatsby

Animal Farm

1984

Romeo and Juliet

Julius Caesar

So, yeah. The ones in bold have already been read, the ones in italics I'm working on (prolly on hiatus, though) and the rest are "to be read".

What I want from YOU is to know what all of them you've read, if you'd like to read them, and your recommendation/reviews. I care, folks.

Is true chemistry key to your ideal romance book?

Must action scenes be tightly written, to the point, making you feel connected with the characters?

Should descriptions be romantic and relaxed, or purely observant?

Do "ly"s at the end of description words bother you or the more the better? (If Bella "shyly" does anything else I will draw a portrait of her JUST so I can stab it)

(Ignore da title, yes?) So, I wanna let you in on a secret. I have OCD. I've had it since I created my first OC about...two years ago. Now, I have over fifty. Each one is individual and special in their own way. I have taken care to eradicate all Mary Sues and Gary Stues. I especially love using past elements, as seen with my Roman Tragedies characters. DeviantArt fuels my OCD. I hate to love you, and can't live with or without you, dA.

A person usually develops this for one or more of the following reasons:

Lack of interest or satisfaction with their own world, so you create worlds to control and people to mess with.

Boredom forces you to begin creating people and worlds.

Intends on doing something with the ideas, but accumulates them over time.

Is just weird like that and accepts this and strings it along.

Okay, so I've seen the list of characters who everyone thinks deserves a book. You know, it's nice and all that Bella and Edward get four books, but I believe that there are other characters who need a book to voice their hardships.

K, here's my personal list:

The Volturi

Carlisle

Eleazar

Jasper/Alice

Emmett/Rosalie

And my list of people who do NOT need a(nother) book:

Renesmee

Bree

Riley

Charlie

Jane and Alec (dude, they'd be with the Volturi)

Seth

Pretty much EVERY OTHER CHARACTER THAT WE KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT.

Bella and Edward

Okay, I'm gonna present my case for the following characters: the Volturi, Carlisle, Eleazar, Jasper/Alice, Rosalie/Emmett.

THE VOLTURI: Okay, here's the thing, the Volturi are THOUSANDS of years old, right? So, they've experienced everything from the rise and fall of ancient Greece and Rome to the end of the Cold War. What I love is the history embedded in their past and the drama it creates. Imagine a story that begins in Ancient Rome, showing the transition of an ambitious young dreamer to a horrific vampire. We see Aro changing each member and we learn the key roles of their personality and powers in the Volturi. I think Caius may have changed a few of them... There would be tangled love affairs - think Aro/Renata meets Sulpicia/Felix - with high running emotions. We see the leaders arguing over life or death situations. Maybe we'd see why the Volturi make their laws and why they refuse to give second chances. We'd see Didyme's murder at the hand of her brother and the toll it takes on Marcus. We'd learn Felix's actual feeling toward Bella and whether Jane has a crush on Aro. Maybe we'd see Caius' loving side... And why the wive are so important. I see Sulpicia as an Atia of the Julii character. Imagine the stress that comes from keeping such an empire up and running for centuries, Aro must crack sometimes. There's so much possibility. Plus, Meyer gets a chance to redeem herself by showing us just how blood thristy her vampires can be.

CARLISLE CULLEN: This guys has traveled the world I bet - or Europe, at least - in his quest for answers and others like him. Surely there were times when he felt at a loss, alone in the world. He probably had strange encounters wit humans. When did he meet Alistair? What was the nature of his relationships with Aro, Alistair,.. Edward? Did he love his father? Was he loved in return? Was he a failure to him? What immortal children did he see? What did he learn from Tanya? Aro? And, how did he mangae to keep to an all animal diet? Carlisle seems perfect from Bella's description but what does she even know about him? This book would give us key knowledge on the tie he has with the Denalis, the Volturi, and his family members? All this and MORE could be answered.

ELEAZAR: He's equipped with an amazing ability, and - based on my fanfiction mind - lived through the beautiful ear know as the European renaissance. I see him diligently working with the Volturi, being pivitol to them, then being lured away by an innocently beautiful Carmen. He obviously experienced a lot, and his book would be a dazzlingly sophisticated love story.

JASPER/ALICE: We learn the horrors of war and early 20th century asylums. I imagine Jasper coming from a lovely little Southern family, and Alice coming from one that hid her from the world. I mean, her father would have lashed out at her daily, kept her locked in the attic. Her only solace would be in her little sister who loved her unconditionally. Then, at the asylum, she'd have a love for the mysterious man who was kind to her when she needed it most. Jasper would live in constant battle, being emotionally abused by Maria for her own purposes. Then, they both escape from those lives. We'd see Alice's search for Jasper, her wanders... I bet she knew Coco Chanel! Jasper would try his best to live in the modern world, but would fail frequently. Then, they'd meet and travel blisssfully to their new lives.

ROSALIE/EMMETT: We'd see Rosalie's uptown girl life and actually know everything she lost. Emmett's life would be explained, it's complex simplicity. We'd see how he got mauled, and how Rosalie found him. We'd know Rosalie's black bliss that she felt when she killed Royce. We'd see how they saved each other, in different ways. Imagine, "He called me his angel... But I'd still be a lost soul without him."

So, yeah. They deserve books. Steph needs to wake up and smell the roses of ideas. If not, I'm buying the rights to the Volturi.

Agree? Disagree? Your own opinions on the matter? Want me to go jump off a bridge? Want to go jump off a bridge?

Okay, so Ginswan's article on Twilight rehab inspired me to make my own. First off, a quick intro:

TWILIGHT RECOVERY is simply a way of becoming a better and more informed fan. You can be one of two types of fans; A) The crazy, annoying as heck fangirl that an make everyone look bad without realizing it, or B) The informed fan that realizes Twilight is just a fandom, not life.

Feel free to identify with either. I will teach you how to branch out from Twilight into bigger and better books. You will come back to Twilight with greater insight and the ability to better appreciate Meyer's outlook on vampires and romance.

One of the common mistakes it not realizing that you're going overboard. Be a fan, just don't get overzealous. Twilight fans have a rep for being loud, immature, and downright annoying. To be realistic, you can't just go about being proud of that. I mean. really.

ADMITTING YOU HAVE A PROBLEM: "ZOMG, TWILIGHT IZ LYK DA BEST THANG EVA!~!1111!!!" Bad. Very, very bad. Either you're having an off day or you need help. I vote the latter. You need to ask yourself, "do I obsess over Edward Cullen or Jacob Black, calling them the most wonderful men on Earth? Do I find myself calling Stephenie Meyer the best author ever? Do I take disses to Twilight personally?" Newsflash, you may have a problem.

ANTI-DRUGS ARE DA KEY, HOMIE: Yes, they are. Mine was Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Some people use Dracula. I advise flat out vampire novels. If the vampires sparkle or spend half of the book angsting over killing Bambi, put it down. Try to stay away from things like House of Night and True Blood and The Vampire Diaries. You need something classic. A good strong dose. This'll let you know if you can handle the heat, or just need to get out of the kitchen. I assure you, Lestat de Lioncourt can seranade you with his narratives and descriptions of 18th century France and New Orleans. Dracula is what we regard as the foundation of vampire novels. Yes, the pale guy with fangs and a cape.

GET OVER VAMPIREAPHOBIA: I can hear you now, griping about fangs and drinking from humans and not sparkling. Honey child, welcome to vampires. For centuries we've seen them as vicious creatures, stalking maidens and seducing them for their blood. Fangs allow for neat and tidy drinking. The two puncture would make holes big enough to get the required amount of blood. Capes are just cool. Bats, too. Vampires burn in the sunlight. It's their unholiness shining through (no pun intended). Coffins are a metaphor. What's dead is dead. Be careful with picking an anti-drug. I'll volunteer to perscribe you one. If you want romance infused more with horror, I can help you.

TAKE A VACAY: Watch, read, and enjoy all the vampire-y goodness the world of entertainment has to offer. Be enchanted by the drop-dead gorgeous vampires that Anne Rice dreamed up. Armand, the original ginger vampire... Or, visit Dracula, the horrific creature of the night who posed as a hospitable Count. Whatever your fix, grab a friend, some popcorn and watch/read till your closed eyes are swimming with visions of fanged fiends and lovelies.

EVALUATE WHAT YOU DONE BE LEARN-ED: So, I'm gonna assume you learned that Twilight is, in fact, NOT the most perfect peice of literature to ever appear on Earth. Sorry. Now, think of Twilight vampires in comparison to the others... Sparklepires are tamer. They appeal to the average teenage girl. Yeah. Now, you should realize where you went wrong. Obsession. Evaluate love as it is presented in each book. Dig deep and uncover what hidden messages the author didn't even know were there. Whoa, whoa! You probably think, "Man, I could be in school doing this!". True, but even a simple brush over should tell you something about differences. Make sure you reread the Saga.

YOO IS NAOW CERTIFIED-ED!: Yes, after all that hard work and rehabilitation, your non-Twilighter friends will now thank you for being less crazy and more bearable. Now, they may even read the series. You've been tamed, I assume. If not, oh, well, maybe when your're more mature. You can discuss vampires and romance without being biased... And, maybe, just maybe, Edward has been replaced...

HOW TO GET A "PRESCRIPTION": Answer the following questions and recieve a book/movie list as a reply:

Do you like the action or romance of Twilight most, when you really thing about it?

Who are your top three favorite characters?

"I won't read a book over _______ pages long!"

Qualities a book's hero/heroine MUST have?

Book/Movie ratings I can read/watch: G, PG, PG-14, PG-16, NC-17, R

Hope I Can/Did Help!

How many times have you reread it?

Who was your favorite character?

So, anyone into The Vampire Chronicles? Prolly not, but I decided to ask when I saw Babyjabba's blog about Anne Rice.

The vampires from Anne's Vampire Chronicles are my favorite type of vampires...I call the fangpires. Lestat is my favorite (I'm such a fan girl *snort*). I fell in love with the chronicles in sixth grade. I was at Books-a-Million and I saw it. I remember seeing Anne Rice's name on Twilight and decided to try it. It was like an addiction. I loved Anne's writing style and her captivating characters. Louis was a bit whiny, but that's part of his charm, I guess. Lestat was ENDLESS fun and he's such a freaking idiot. Armand is the original redheaded vampire (HA! Edward, HA!)...and quite a brat. Either way, the characters all made me love and hate them at one point or another.

I could drone on and on about how much I love the characters, or how much Lestat pwns Edward, but I think I'll just put some comics that make me smile:

http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&global=1&q=lestat+makes+you+hot#/d1ayvat

Here's a comparison of Interview with the Vampire and Twilight by Otaku998 from Deviantart:

Relationship between the main characters

Twilight:
About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him- and I didn't know how dominant that part might be- that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Interview:
"Lestat, in fact, had aroused in me feelings which I hadn't wished to confide in anyone, feelings I'd wished to forget, despite Claudia's death. Hatred had not been one of them.

Vampires in the sunlight

Twilight:
Edward in the sunlight was shocking. I couldn't get used to it, though I'd been staring at him all afternoon. His skin, white despite the faint flush from yesterday's hunting trip, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface. He lay perfectly still in the grass, his shirt open over his sculpted, incandescent chest, his scintillating arms bare. His glistening, pale lavender lids were shut, though of course he didn't sleep. A perfect statue carved in some unknown stone, smooth like marble, glittering like crystal.

Interview:
"'You're carrying on badly,' Lestat said finally. 'And it's almost dawn. I should let you die. You will die, you know. The sun will destroy the blood I've given you, in every tissue, every vein. But you shouldn't be feeling this fear at all. I think you're like a man who loses an arm or a leg and keeps insisting that he can feel the pain where the arm or leg used to be.' Well, that was positively the most intelligent and useful thing Lestat had ever said in my presence, and it brought me around at once. 'Now, I'm getting into the coffin,' he finally said to me in his most disdainful tone, 'and you will get in on top of me if you know what's good for you.'

Transformation scenes

Twilight:
The pain was bewildering. Exactly that- I was bewildered. I couldn't understand, couldn't make sense of what was happening. My body tried to reject the pain, and I was sucked again and again into a blackness that cut out whole seconds or maybe even minutes of agony, making it that much harder to keep up with reality. I tried to separate them. Non-reality was black, and it didn't hurt so much. Reality was red, and it felt like I was being sawed in half, hit by a bus, punched by a prize fighter, trampled by bulls, and submerged in acid all at the same time.

Interview:
"As for my body, it was not yet totally converted, and as soon as I became accustomed to the sounds and sights, it began to ache. All my human fluids were being forced out of me. I was dying as a human, yet completely alive as a vampire; and with my awakened senses I had to preside over death of my body with a certain discomfort and then, finally, fear. I ran back up the steps to the parlor, where Lestat was already at work on the plantation papers, going over the expenses and profits for the last year. 'You're a rich man,' he said to me when I came in. 'Something's happening to me,' I shouted.
"'You're dying, that's all; don't be a fool. Don't you have any oil lamps? All this money and you can't afford whale oil except for that lantern. Bring me that lantern.'
"'Dying!' I shouted. 'Dying!'
"'It happens to everyone,' he persisted, refusing to help me. As I look back on this, I still despise him for it.

Drinking animal blood

Twilight:
"Bears?" I repeated with difficulty.
"Grizzly is Emmet's favorite." His voice was still offhand, but his eyes were scrutinizing my reaction. I tried to pull myself together.
"Hmmm," I said, taking another bite of pizza as an excuse to look down. I chewed slowly, and then took a long drink of Coke without looking up. "So," I said after a moment, finally meeting his now anxious gaze. "What's your favorite?"
He raised an eyebrow and the corners of his mouth turned down in disapproval. "Mountain lion."

Interview:
"'Rats can be quite nice,' he said. And he took the rat to the wine glass, slashed its throat, and filled the glass rapidly with blood. The rat then went hurtling over the gallery railing, and Lestat held the wine glass to the candle triumphantly. 'You may well have to live off rats from time to time, so wipe that expression off your face,' he said.

The vampire daughter

Twilight:
The stranger-child in Rosalie's arms had to be weeks, if not months, old. She was maybe twice the size of the baby in my dim memory, and she seemed to be supporting her own torso easily as she stretched toward me. Her shiny bronze-colored hair fell in ringlets past her shoulders. Her chocolate brown eyes examined my with an interest that was not at all childlike; it was adult, aware and intelligent. She raised one hand, reaching in my direction for a moment, and then reached back to touch Rosalie's throat.

Interview:
"She was not a child any longer, she was a vampire child. 'Now, Louis was going to leave us,' said Lestat, his eyes moving from my face to hers. 'He was going to go away. But now he's not. Because he wants to stay and take care of you and make you happy.' He looked at me. 'You're not going, are you, Louis?'
"'You bastard!' I whispered to him. 'You fiend!'
"'Such language in front of your daughter,' he said.
"'I'm not your daughter,' she said with the silvery voice. 'I'm my mama's daughter.'
"'No dear, not anymore,' he said to her. He glanced at the window, and then he shut the bedroom door behind us and turned the key in the lock.

Daughterly love

Twilight:
"I love you," I told her, "More than anything."
"I love you too, Momma," She answered. She touched the locket at her neck, which now held a tiny photo of her, Edward, and me. "We'll always be together."
"In our hearts we'll always be together," I corrected in a whisper as quiet as a breath. "But when the time comes today, you'll have to leave me."
Her eyes widened, and she touched her hand to my cheek. The silent no was louder than if she'd shouted it.

Interview:
"I had sunk to my knees at her side, and my arms were outstretched as if to enfold her. Yet I dared not touch her, dared not even say her name, lest my own pain break from me with the first syllable in a monstrous outpouring of hopelessly inarticulate cries. 'Oooh.' She shook her head now, squeezing the tears out onto her cheeks, her teeth clenched tight together. 'I love you still, but that's the torment of it. Lestat I never loved. But you! The measure of my hatred is that love. They are the same! Do you know how much I hate you!' She flashed at me through the red film that covered her eyes.

A little comic which makes me smile: http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=vampire+chronicles+lestat+claudia#/d1ayvat

So, everyone seems to be raving about Robert Pattinson. He scored the iconic role of Edward Cullen..and a spot on every teenage girl's wall. What do I have to say on the matter? Barf. Pure and simple.

I don't consider him attractive or from what I've seen, talented. His singing disgusts me. But that's all good and well. What really burns me up is that he was voted sexiest man of 2010." What the WORDS HAVE BEEN CENSORED FOR EXTREME AND VIOLENT PROFANITY!!!???!?!"

I lost faith in my generation a few months ago, but honestly, what about all of the men that are actually worthy of that title? I agree with MANY of the placings...Although Gerard Butler could be higher up (and my momma agrees). Does anyone every wanna slap someone because they're just that irritated? Anyways, just saying.

My solution is simply to ban teenag girls from having a say. Seriously. But, I suppose Pattinson would somehow wriggle into a top spot. Please share your opinions! I just pity all those poor men and actors alike...*walks off muttering about how Hayden should have been chased down, bound, and cast way back in 2007*

I had a realization while reading about the Sam/Emily/Leah problem. Someone said that Sam was Bella, Emily was Edward, and Leah was Jacob in that situation. From their, they said that Sam loves Leah, but Emily more. From there, I realized they also meant Bella loved Edward more than Jacob. (confusingly put, I know)

From analyzation of the characters and their bonds, my new opinion is that Edward is fixated on, and obsessing over, Bella. It started as a fascination with her locked thoughts and then to her not being afraid of him. So, he starts obsessing and percieves it as love. Jacob thinks she's pretty and is flattered that she actually likes him. As they spend time together, a crush forms. He loves her personality, not the smell of her blood. Bella, is obsessed with Edward. I think it's the way he sends her into dazzeled panic attacks. She's enchanted, that's all. It can be percieved as love, but I digress. Bella likes how she feels when she's with Jacob and the way he can cheer her up and make her feel happy. She can be normal Bella with him. He trusts her and her judgement entirely and she knows it.

I think it's wrong how Bella is constantly believing Edward is too good for her and that she can't measure up to him. It's sickening. With Jacob, they're best friends and the only time she thinks he deserves better is when she's angsting over Edward.

It is my firm opinion that the Twilight Saga is not a love story with a happy ending, but one that ends tragically. Why, you ask? Well, because this poor naive girl is enchanted so much by a dashing vampire that she does not see true love in her face. So, she ends up falling into an eternity without knowing what life would have been like with her true soulmate.

So, I think in light of that, this tragedy know as The Twilight Saga's true nature is not even known to it's own creator. How tragic.

- A Critic Of The Strangest Kind

Twilight Fans and the Characters They Are FIERCE AboutEdit

It would be a lie to say I'm not quick to jump to a fictional character's defense. I can't stand to see a good character put down. In the twilight Saga, they're barely mentioned if they even exist at all. One of my favorites to discuss is Jacob Black. And no, it isn't because of his film body. I promise you, I could care less about that. I've mentioned I hate his screwed up fate, and I do. His imprint is curse, though some see it as his reward for fighting for Bella. Sucky consellation prize, I'd say. Most Team Jacob fans can be divided into two groups:

The Gushers: These girls (and guys...?) can't stop gushing over Taylor Launtner and frequently confuse him for Jacob. They've all but named his abs and are most likely to say Jacob and Nessie are "ment 4 each other 4 eva cause they r perfect 4 evch other!1!11!!!! <3".

The Sane Fans: These fans are the ones who love every Jacob/Bella moment and hated Bella for rejecting him for a "leech". The felt bad for him and loved it when he was witty or showed Edward what-for. They're most likely to be pro-Jacob/Leah or pro-Jacob/Lizzie because they often believe he and Nessie were a match made in Hell (it's a place, peeps).

I am pro-Jacob Black. If you couldn't tell

Along with characters I'm a fan of, there are those I am not. Edward Cullen is one of them. I don't understand the infactuation with him. People say he's sweet and perfect. I digress. Here are my interpretations versus the average Team Edward's:

He watches Bella sleep:

Me: That's gross. That's wrong. Where is Bella's mind? I know she's flattered but there's a creeper in her midst. Red Alert, Bells. Most people would scream/run away/kick him out.

TE: He wants to test himself. He loves her enough to watch her asleep. It's so sweet. I wish he'd watch me.

He tells her he could kill her at any time:

Me: He tells her this and she's to intoxicated to get the message. And, to be frank, he shouldn't really use it as a threat.

TE: He wanted her to be truthful to Charlie. He cares.

He left her in New Moon:

Me: Stupid idiot caused a lot of grief, and why? Because he overreacts. Great job.

TE: He didn't want her to get hurt or loose her soul. He's so sweet.

Overall:

Me: Sucks that he's so blind and obsessive over her. He'd get along well with Dracula and Lestat...then again....

TE: He's sweet and smart and sensitive and caring.

So, my opinions are evident. Cut me and pour lemon juice in it, why don't cha? I will say, I don't hate him...I just don't particularly like him. His fans are usually freakos but not all of them, of course. He kinda bores me. Maybe it's that weird pathological need to have an older man love you that I don't understand...

Bella Swan is either an idiot girl, or a maiden intoxicated by the obsession and fascination of and over a vampire named Edward Cullen who's too much of a indecisive idgit to know what he wants. Which one she truly is, the world may never know

Many say she's a wonderful role model to girls and everyone can relate to her awkwardness and clumsiness. Me? I say if I'm like her, kill me with fire. She's obsessive, doesn't TRY to be social, down right senseless, and ignores EVERYTHING. I don't think she's likeable. She's the anti-model of my OCs. Yeah. I could drone and rant over her, but I'll leave you with this: Her spineless ways have set womenkind back nearly a hundred years. She should have been killed with fire from the get go. Give a valuable character some shine-time.

Her happy ending comes with her learning absolutely NOTHING. She gets everything she wanted and more. Made me want to STAB her.

What's good about her? She's a great audience surrgote and I learned how to NOT live my life.

- A Critic Of The Strangest Kind

Renesmee "Re-name-me" CullenEdit

So, Renesmee debutes soon and I see this as the opportunity to pour out my personal opinions on her. See, when I first read Breaking Dawn, I was all "They've got a baby...Cool?". After a few months I was all "Ugh. Claudia's soooo much better". Then it was "I flipping hate this stupid Mary Sue baby. Someone KILL HER". And now? Now I'm all "Horrible character, weird person, stupid name but at least we have the good characters, right?"

So, some people wonder why people dislike Renesmee. To help with that, I'm going the route I went with my Edward evaluation. Me and the Average Renesmee Fan. Yup. So, here we go:

Her name is Renesmee Carlie Cullen

ME: Haha, funny joke. Now, what's the kid's name? Yeah, it's not very creative. Come on! Just mix two names together? Yeah... It's the lazy way. Pick two compatible names and mix 'em. Not only is it bad on Bella's part, but it's just strange for an author.

Renesmee Fan: It's sweet that she mixed the grandparent's names. And, it was an awesome idea to mix them in the first place. It's so unique.

She's EXTREMELY advanced.

ME: SUE ALERT, SUE ALERT! Yep, she's a Mary Sue. I wanted to see Bella's motherly trials and trubulations. Getting Nessie to sleep, feeding her, teaching her to read, etc. Nope. Nessie can do it all. Stephenie Meyer, that's just lazy planning. I firmly believe you could do better...well...maybe not....Hee.

RF: She's so smart and adorable!

She's so BEAUTIFUL!

ME: Rosalie who? Yeah, Bella successfully takes everyone's power or what they'e noted for. Carly's super compassion, Esme's passionate love, Emmett's strength, Alice's magnetic pull, Jasper's hopes and dreams, Edward's personality and now THIS. Her child is the most beautiful thing ever. Haha. I refuse to believe it.

RF: Of course she's beautiful! Her parents are! She's so cute.

And...?

ME: Re-name-me is a Mary Sue to the fullest.

RF: Renesmee is so cute, smart, and her name is awesome.

Yep, I dislike her. Epic Fail, Steph. Sorry.

So, I wanted to share my latest work with you all. Took about three hours to complete. I listened to Avril Lavigne's Alice the whole time.

Okay, this is the Greek goddess Persephone. Persephone was kidnapped/raped by Hades. Persephone's mother, Demeter, became anguished so the people of the land went through droughts and lack of food and stuff like that. Zeus interviens and sends Hermes to retrieve Persephone. Hades has tricked her into eating six pomegrante seeds, so she must stay with him in the Underworld six months of the year. So, Persephone is with her mother in sping and summer, and with Hades in fall and winter. That was how the Greeks explained the seasons.

I have Persephone being dragged into the underworld from the hands of dead ghost-ghouls. I had fun painting this. Dang, imagine me with a tablet! *giddy laughter*

Also, this has inspired me to start a campaign to draw twenty god/goddesses. Working on Iris now.

And, if you did have an interest, which god/goddess/titan/hero is you favorite? And, who do ou identify with? My personal favorites are Apollo, Athena, Hermes, and Aphrodite. I identify with Athena, though.

I mean, he isn't around her all the time, inhaling her scent. I personally think Alice or Edward would have snapped. I read the most amazing fanfiction where Edward pushed Bella into the table to get her away from him because he was losing it. And, Jasper only snaps because the glass cuts are making her bleed buckets. It was the most awesome Jasper/Bella fanfic. Actually, I love Jasper/Bella more than nearly any other pairing.

On the topic of Jasper/Bella, usually it involves Alice and Jasper spilting. I once read one where Alice became totally psycho and hated Bella. And then, another one where Alice left Jasper because she claimed that her purpose had been to bring him to the Cullens where he would meet Bella. And Edward was supposed meant to bring Bella to the Cullens so she'd eventually meet Jasper. Anyways, so Alice saiod they were never soul mates and he was meant for Bella. It was awesome.

Also, it seems like Alice/Edward is right. I mean, they click much better than Edward/Bella. And, they balance each other well. Bella and Jasper are both reserved and more mature. See the point?

So, a lot of peoplre speculate over what happens after BD. I personally think one of three things would happen:

Aro and Felix would hatch a plot to get the Alice, Jasper, Edward, Bella and Renesmee to join the Volturi. Whilst there, Bella would fall in love with Felix (who loves her better than Edward ever could) and in a battle for her heart, Edward dies. Bella stays with the Volturi and Renesmee moves to La Push.

Renesmee becomes a model and travels the world with Jacob because she is super bad @$$ after being raised primarily by Rosalie and Jacob. The Cullens become tired of moving constantly and move in with the Volturi. Oh yah.

Caius kidnaps Renesmee in revenge and she eventually falls in love with Alec. A hurt Jacob finds actual love in a girl from another story know as Lizzie.

I think Renesmee may be a freaking awesome character if her personality is comprised of elements from both Rosalie's and Jacob's. The take-no-s**t attitude, happy disposition, and fierce loyalty would make a killer character. Plus, if she has some odd quirks about her and an interesting plot, I might like her yet.

Anyone ever wonder what it's like in Volterra? Ever wonder what it's like living with a freak like Aro? What about all the secrets hidden within the Volturi castle's walls. I personally think Steph left us hanging there. It would be a crime against nature to leave them without their own book. If Meyer wastes time and effort on a book about Renesmee's life (which will be even worse and pointless than Bree's book) then I will officially become an ASHAMED Twilighter. Yeah, I went there. I know how difficult it is to write a manuscript and I respect that Meyer tries.

I read The Twilight Saga and it wasn't until a year later that I asked myself, "WTF? Why do these vampires sparkle?" I was into another, older type of vampire then. I liked the fangs, Victorian style, and down right sexiness of the old age vampires. Especially the one with the devious smile and yellow/blonde hair. Now, I am mature enough to like ALL vampires. Even the more....downplayed ones.

No one knows what the pull of the Twilight Saga is. It's not very well written, filled with useless words, and the characters should have be killed with fire from the get-go. So, why do we I, we, love it? There are many reasons.

The idea of true love captivated us totally. We started reading and it was like a train wreck. We had to see what happened next.

The minor characters supply endless fun. Plus, we keep waiting to see if they get the time they deserve.

We keep waiting for Bella's untimely and tragic death. Never occured.

By Eclipse, we were excited to see Bella's big choice made...and everything she would loose. But, she lost nothing.

We wanted to see married life for Bella, and Edward and Bella's love for one another become sweeter than ever. But nope, RENESMEE comes into the picture and Ed becomes chopped liver. Great job, Bella.

I even had a teacher tell me she started reading the series and realized it wasn't that well written. Even so, she said she could not put it down and didn't know why. Every now and again a story comes along with some strange and unnatural allure, I guess.
Part of me wonders what will happen when this generation's Twilighters outgrow it....This is why I'm keeping my memorabilia.
So, yeah. A lot of disappointment, but Steph created a world for use that made us reimagine vampires. Anne Rice did it last century, now Meyer revamped it. Maybe, in a couple decades, some other dude will redo what we thik of as vampires. But, for now, we can just be content with Twilight.

Oh my firetrucking gosh. Why the heck is RENESMEE at number one on so many BEST character lists? I don't give a flying flip over the moon what anyone says in reply to this, but: Renesmee is an awful character. Not just the concept, but her development (or lack-thereof). She has the same uniqueness-of-personality as a loaf of bread. She is as Mary Sue as a person can get. She recieves absolutely no character development throughout the entire 300+ pages she is in. She is some perfect, intelligent, wonderful child who is supposedly the most beautiful thing on Earth. It's characters like her that make me feel ashamed to like Twilight. There's nothing likable about her because her goody-two-shoes perfectness is so annoying! I truly wanted to slap Stephenie Meyer when I finished Breaking Dawn. Renesmee is a terrible character. She doesn't have the personality or development to compete with characters like Landon Carter, Lestat de Lioncourt, Rosalie Hale, Nick Conover, and countless others of those higher calibers. It saddens me to know I'm the only one who seems to care about a character's development.

She's adorable, yes, but it's down right ridiculous. NO real child is like her. And, the fact that she's the spawn of Special Snowflake Bella and The Amazing Edward is no excuse.

Yeah, it's childish, but I just want to get my point across. When I first read BD I was like, "Okay...so there's a baby." As I began to KNOW literature and read some of the greatest novels of the past few centuries, I realized what good characters were. Forgive me for growing up.

Okay, I just wanted to set something straight.

People say Edward is SO comitted to Bella's safety and that it's so tragic he loves her too much to leave her. Yeah, tragic how pathetic that is. And, in New Moon, when he left her, Bella proved that something is wrong with her. Her obsessive behavior over him made her catatonic. And, for the record, I didn't feel bad for her. She...EXAGGERATES.

Some people claim that Jacob doesn't give a flying flip over the moon. You're thinking in comparison to Edward. Jacob does care about her safety, enough to risk himself against Victoria. What some percieve as lack of care is just him letting Bella BE a 17/18 year old girl. He thinks she can handle motor cycles and cliff diving. He lets her be Bella. The truest thing he ever said to her was that she would have had to change for him. For Edward, she has to always be on edge. Jacob is a boyfriend...Edward is some father figure.

If I were Bella (forbdid THAT ever happens), I wouldn't have let Edward back into my life after the events in New Moon. I'd have told him he hurt me too much. I'd have said he treats me like a child and tried to control MY life. I'd have ended the conversation with, "You're not my dad". Then, I'd have went to the one person who had made me feel whole, happy, myself - Jacob.

So, in short, Jacob's love for Bella is pure, sweet, and innocent. He treats her like an equal. Edward's stuck in the twentieth century frame of mind and I pity Bella for her bad decision.

I'm team Rosalie, but when a good character is kicked around, I just wanna say something in the defense of good fiction.

And even then, I'm sure she was doing it for her own personal gain and would have liked it better if Bella had died. Rosalie might as well be Renesmee's mother. She does most of the work. Plus, being raised by Jacob and Rosalie, there may be hope for pulling Nessie out of her Sueism yet.

If Bella would have had half the spine Rosalie has, the Twilight Saga would have been MUCH better. I bet she would have chosen Jacob too, considering that's the type of man Rosalie needs. Happy, loyal, kind, gentle, comforting, warm....

"In Breaking Dawn, what price is paid? Bella gets Edward. Bella gets Jacob. Bella gets beauty and grace. Bella gets a baby. Bella gets a fairytale cottage. Bella gets all the powerful trappings of vampiric power without all the burden of newborn instincts. Bella gets to keep her human family. Bella gets Meyer's "perfect ending."

The perfect ending comes at what price?

The price is the love story, the plot, and the character development. The price is seeing Jacob turn from a noble suitor who knows when to bow out, into a toddler's pet.

The price is seeing the endearingly vulnerable Bella turn into a perfect shell of her former self.

The price is seeing Edward, who was once a continuously smoldering cauldron of desire, degraded to a level of abject affliction.

The price is watching Charlie turn from a loving and protective father into a "don't need to know" Homer Simpson.

The price is having to stomach a bloodbath,a mutant birth which rivals the absurdity of the alien reptile baby delivery of the "V" TV miniseries of the 1980's. (Remember that one, gentle reader?)

Bella's surrender of her human life to Edward should have ended intimately with his lips caressing her throat, not with fountains of blood spewing from her mouth as Jacob watches." - Amazon.com Reviewer

That all is kinda my opinion on Breaking Dawn, just told by another. I also disliked the anti-climatic ending. But I loved the wedding.

Below, is another part of a Breaking Dawn review. The reviewer gives you their idea of how BD should have been:

"Bella would have actually wanted to marry Edward. She would have cared about the decorations and Alice would have developed into a real sister, and not some overblown party planner. There would have been real sex - not smutty, but real, nonetheless. Pregnancy would have disappeared. Bella would have had to make the choice - between having babies and having Edward. She would have been cruel to be kind and given Jacob his freedom. Jacob would have grown and gotten over her, and moved on and found real love with someone who loved him back - maybe even Leah, since that ground was laid pretty well. Bella would have spent months being a newborn, filled with nothing but bloodlust. Jessica would be her first victim. The Cullens would have worked tirelessly to help her transform, and we could have gotten to know them all so much better. Rosalie might have died, doing something selfless for once in her life. That would have been doubly meaningful if Meyerrewrites the whole series from Edward's POV (ala Midnight Sun, which in rough draft form is head and shoulders better than Breaking Dawn.) Bella would have to give up Charlie and Renee for a while, but eventually they would be able to be in her life, altho in a much more limited way. There are a million possibilities that could have had a very nice happy ending, with a bit of bitter thrown in with the sweet."Now, Rosalie dying would have made me cry with Emmett, but that's the kind of thing a story needs. Why, making your readers laugh and cry is the most important part. I'd love to see BD rewritten...But I think Stephenie has her fair share of loot from her experience as a world wide phenomenon.
