I'm the oppinon that Tanya Denali needs a book aswell.
'S.M'eyer needs to write a story about Tanya finding true love since she is the Denali Edward equivalent now. I wonder of Tanya or any of the Denalis were ever sad sacks like Edward? I mean they would have a reason to being traditional vampires and having sex with men and then killing them. They actually cared about their human lovers I would assume and that is what drove them to be veggie vamps. Unlike All knowing Edward the vigilante!
Anyway the whole Denali Circle deserves a book. In contrast to the Cullen Family, they have a common past, which is more exciting, then most other.
Okay, some pasts are sad and unfortunate as the past of Alice or Rosalie But who must be present at the execution,o the "mother" and an innocent child immortal you know well.
Being a vampire sucks, I get it. But if you HAVE to become a vampire, Edward lucked into about the best circumstances you could ask for. Carlisle as a creator has no ulterior motives. He’s not trying to build an army (like Maria or Victoria), or collect talents (like Amun or Aro). Edward gets a loving sire, a “mother,” brothers and sisters, nice houses, nice cars, nice pianos unlimited wealth, a way NOT to be a monster if he doesn’t want to. Compared to other vampires in the series, I’d say he has it pretty good! He could have been raped, kidnapped and turned like Siobhan. He could have been recruited into a newborn army like Jasper, Riley, and Bree.He could have been attacked and left to die like Carlisle, Liam and Garrett. He could have been used by his father like Alistair. He could have been turned and basically enslaved for his power like so many Volturi members. And Tanya’s been single for 1000 years, so your 90 years waiting for a mate doesn’t really impress me all that much. But yeah I think that’s how it’s presented in the guide. They were traditional vamps killing people willy nilly (Tanya’s ‘mother’ chose Kate because she was the last survivor of a caravan they attacked and Sasha was impressed by her courage and so turned her into a vampire) but then their mother was killed and they distracted themselves from their grief with lots of sex with humans.
But over time they started to actually care about the human men they were sleeping with and tried NOT to kill them but always failed until Tanya went out in the woods in an attempt to go cold turkey and stumbled upon the animal option when she got desperate. But I never got the impression that the Denali were ever ashamed of being vampires. I don’t think the sisters really care about human life that much (Carmen and Eleazar are a different story). It’s more that NOT drinking human blood made it easier for them to have sex with humans, so it benefits them.
I don’t think it’s a selfless thing; they didn’t feel bad about killing humans in general, they felt bad about killing humans they had grown to care about. Maybe their attitude has changed and now they do value human life or maybe they just like the more ‘peaceful’ existence they have now, but even so I don’t think they have the self-loathing that plagues Edward. I don’t think they worry (or care) about their souls, they aren’t beating themselves up over the lives they took and they are much more at peace with being vampires. Good for them.
