I'd kill for the weather of Forks or Seattle right now

Especially since my AC has gone out. With the fans going in my place it's bearable until it gets cooler for me to open the windows tonight. Right now it's 82 degrees in my place -- sames as the outside temperature. Current Seattle weather... 61 degrees. Now that's the stuff. With the temperature tomorrow topping out at 99 degrees, I won't be in my house, lol.

The problem is I always run warm. Cold weather suits me just fine. I definitely wasn't made for the weather here. Although I can bear it, the near constant rain of western Washington is more to my liking. I have cousins in Seattle and I've spent time in all the seasons there. Rain down here in the South more times than not is thunderstorms and if you are real lucky tornadoes. I've been fairly close to two of them and one that missed my parent's house by about 200 yards. And the humidity that comes with being in the South isn't lessened by the rain... the rain actually makes it worse.

In the last month it didn't rain for two weeks, rained for one day and hasn't rained again in two weeks since. Yep, even with my AC going I would still prefer the weather of Forks.

Is the Hunger Games worth a damn?

I know there are quite a few fans of the Hunger Games on this wiki. I ask because I'm debating reading the first book in the trilogy and then moving on to it's subsequent sequels. I first heard all the hub-bub about the series last year when it was announced who would be portraying Katniss. A quick glance on Wikipedia to get a quick synopsis kind of intrigued me. But reading further it seemed a blatant rip-off of the supreme "Battle Royale" novel and then with the last line along the lines of whether "choosing between humanity or love" pretty much turned me off to the series. I later found out the author had never even heard of "Battle Royale" and the idea of a televised death match isn't exactly a revolutionary idea.

I'm pretty much done with teen romance. I'm closer to the 30 than I am to my teens. The only real teenage series I regularly watch is "The Vampire Diaries." Although, I really wish they would knock off the school charity nonsense and pretty much any school function, but I digress....

Fast forward to the present and my younger cousin gave me her dog-eared Hunger Games book to read. She is a big fan and is eagerly anticipating the upcoming movie. So since I'm getting the book for free and I can read rather fast I'm pretty much leaning to reading it, but I wanted to know what other people think. And please keep it spoiler-free.

Is a Twilight movie premiere as bad as I imagine it?

Bad in the sense, that every time Jacob or Edward comes on the screen there is so much screaming I can't hear dialogue? I'm sure I'm over generalizing here, but I'm curious. I've never seen a Twilight movie the weekend it came out. I saw Twilight at home, and the subsequent sequels the next weekend. By that point the massive crowds had died down considerably, and there were only the random muffled squeals of respective Team Eddie and Jake fans.

The reason I'm writing this blog -- and my first in almost a year -- is that I've been asked to go to the BD Part I Friday night premiere. "Asked" is probably a kinder word than what was conveyed to me by my girlfriend, lol. She's a Twilight fan and really wants to see the wedding and honeymoon portion. For myself, this movie is the one I'm least looking forward to. So my question is, are the premieres really crazy or I'm just completely wrong about screaming non-stop?

In this day and age of easily manipulated photos, I'm skeptical of most images on the Interwebz. The image isn't too big for me to get out my magnifying glass and check each pixel -- so I guess this girl is Taylor's doppelganger for the most part... weird.

From the poor box office showing this week, I'd imagine not many are familiar with the movie -- or the book and foreign film it is made from. A shame really -- the book and both movies are quite good. Now of course the movie are rated R for a reason. The movie is very dark and the source material throws in some themes and situations I'm not going to mention.

Short plot info: A socially awkward boy, bullied at school and lonely at home gets a new neighbor. The two become fast friends, but he soon realizes she's no normal girl.

The American remake is even better than the Swedish version in my opinion. Like I said it's very dark and even I was shocked at one death. I knew it was coming, but the way they didn't shy away from it was the surprising part. It's a very unconventional love story and the young actors are quite good. Now, I know most users on here are probably not R rated viewing age. But if you are the viewing age or mature enough to handle it, I'd highly recommend seeing it.

I'll even say it -- I liked this movie more than Eclipse.

Blu-Ray release date.... maybe.

Catchy blog title, eh? A friend of mine pointed this trailer out to me today. I'm honestly surprised it took them this long to do a parody movie of the series. I figured they would have started as soon as Twilight came out. But I guess it took New Moon to really cement the vampire craze...

I managed a smirk at best throughout the trailer. But I did get quite a laugh at the end. I won't ruin the surprise for those who haven't seen it. I honestly believe it's not far from the truth...

For me, probably the biggest spoiler was the reveal that Jacob was a werewof (shape-shifter). I saw the movie first and then immediately read the book quickly thereafter. This was exactly around the time that the New Moon trailer was to premiere at the MTV movie awards. I remember watching a sketch involving Andy Samberg and wolves. I honestly wasn't picking up on it and couldn't see the funny in it. I find it kind of funny, now that I know. But I should've known better, and ended up watching the trailer. And we all know what happens.

So before I could even start New Moon, I already knew that Edward was leaving Bella "forever" and that Jacob was a werewolf. After reading New Moon, I stayed away from any Twilight sites so as not to spoil Eclipse. Thankfully I finished the book unspoiled. For Breaking Dawn, I was spoiled the big one about Bella getting knocked up. But I didn't believe it initially.

The way I it was spoiled because I wa looking at the New Moon trailer on YouTube. While searching for it, there was as fan-made trailer for Breaking Dawn on the page. It had taken a still from the trailer showing a faceless individual pregnant. I immediately cast this off as some sort of dream sequence, because Edward couldn't possibly father a child, lol. Imagine my surprise when it ended turning out to be true.

So anything spoiled in the saga for you as well?

Twilight Novella of Bree from Eclipse

Just in case nobody has seen this new info, there is going to be a novella, Stephenie's version of a short story, about Bree from Eclipse. I'd make a new page for it, but I'm about to leave the house. I'd much prefer to have Midnight Sun, but this might be an interesting side story.

Stephenie allowed Jodelle to read some of the manuscript, but she had to burn it at the end. As you can see below.

My Twilight Saga Playlist

As much as I enjoy the saga, never been a fan for the most part of Stephenie's playlist for the series. While I absolutely love Muse, can't say the same for Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Blue October. Imagine my disappointment when I read the FAQ about which CD Bella listened to in Twilight and it ended up being Linkin Park.

I'll admit, when I was younger and Linkin Park first came out, I liked the song "One Step Closer." But I can't stand them now. This is just my opinion about them. I have nothing against people on here who like the bands that I hate. Anyways, this list contains songs that I think fit the series. It's a mix of indie rock, folk, hard rock, progressive metal, etc. Songs that I feel build atmosphere if that makes since. Enjoy....
