One of the goriest moments in the entire Twilight Saga is undoubtedly Renesmee's birth when Bella is hovering between life and death. Breaking Dawn the movie is struggling to keep everything as real as possible while maintaining its PG-13 rating.
"There are scenes were Bella looks like an alien. When the baby eats her from inside, she looks so thin and ghastly. Kristen had to wear this horrible makeup and when I’d see her come on set, I’d ask the crew: ‘'Are you sure we're filming Twilight? Isn't it supposed to be harmless and PG-13?'"
Worried that they won't be able to pull of the birthing scene? Not to worry Twihards, the goal is realism:
"Before filming the scene, Stephenie Meyer, a midwife, Kristen and I sat down to talk to a doctor to decide where I was supposed to bite if this situation would ever occur in real life. The doctor looked at us a bit puzzled and said: ‘I don’t think you could ever do this in real life.'"
Finally, I leave you with this lovely image. Guess what they used for Kristen's placenta (ewwwww) for Edward to rip through?
Are you excited for the arrival of Renesmee?
