The Twilight cast, including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner, were due to begin shooting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 in Brazil within the next few weeks, but filming may be suspended due to fears that the location is unsafe.

Violence has erupted in Rio De Janeiro, & on Saturday, 35 people were taken hostage by a drug gang at the luxury InterContinental Hotel. The gang was on the run from police, and the incident resulted in a three-hour siege, ten arrests, one death and four injured police officers.

Police have reportedly encouraged Summit Entertainment to alter their production schedule. Summit hasn't directly commented on the situation, but a Summit spokesman said: "The possibility of filming portions of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 in Brazil has always been under consideration and we are continuing to scout locations within the country."
