Jasper Hale, born Jasper Whitlock in 1844, is a vampire who participated in the great vampire wars of the south, but later became a member of the Olympic Coven. He is the husband of Rosalie Hale and the adoptive son of Carlisle and Esme Cullen. Jasper is the adoptive brother of Edward and Isabella Cullen, Emmett and Alice Cullen, as well as the uncle of Renesmee Cullen.

After becoming a major in the Confederate Army, Jasper was beset upon by the vampire Maria, who proceeded to turn him. After the transformation, Jasper aided Maria in her creation of a newborn vampire army which successfully conquered the feeding grounds of Texas. However, Jasper became disillusioned with this violent life and eventually became a nomad. Fortunately, he was eventually found Rosalie, the love of his life and with her began a life with the peaceful coven of the Cullen family.

Biography Edit

Early Life Edit

Jasper Hale, was born in 1843 and grew up in Houston, Texas. In 1861 when he was almost seventeen, he lied about his age, stating he was 20, and joined the Confederate States Army to serve in the Civil War.Due to his intense charisma, he quickly rose through the ranks and became the youngest Major in Texas, even without considering his real age. Jasper was turned into a vampire in 1863 by a vampire named Maria, when he was 20 years old. Maria had a coven with two other vampires, one named Nettie, and the other was Lucy. Maria was fighting a territorial war for claim on big cities in the south, such as Mexico City. Maria recognized that Jasper was high-ranking in the army, and therefore already had some knowledge of combat skills. She wanted a strong male vampire who could fight alongside her. When Maria found out about his peculiar ability to control the emotions of those around him, she found him even more useful.

Jasper's responsibility was to train the newborn vampires and then kill them when they were no longer useful to Maria, usually after about a year when their strength had begun to fade. After about a century of this, he grew weary of the lifestyle. An old vampire colleague of his, named Peter, persuaded him to escape from Maria. For a time, he wandered with Peter and his companion, Charlotte, but soon came to feel remorse for his prey because he experienced their emotions as he took their lives. As a result, he ran away and wandered on his own until he found Alice Cullen, whom he later recognized as his true love, waiting for him in a half-empty diner in Philadelphia. Where she would bring him to the Cullens and live there together in peace.

They both use Rosalie's, her adopted sis surname of "Hale" so they can pretend to be brother and sister. Out of the whole coven, Jasper has the hardest time being around humans, due to his untrained upbringing as a young vampire in an army environment. He was not taught control or how to regulate his blood lust. Edward Cullen states that all human blood is equally tempting to Jasper, unlike the rest of the family, who can notice the variations in blood scent in different humans.

Personality and traitsEdit

Physical DescriptionEdit

Jasper is 6'3" and has golden honey blond hair. He is muscular but lean. Like the other Cullens, he has pale, marble-like skin and bruise-like purple shadows under his eyes, which appear gradually as his thirst increases. He has golden eyes, like all animal-feeding ("vegetarian") vampires, which turn darker, eventually becoming black, as he grows thirstier. He has many crescent-shaped scars on his body, face, neck and jaw from the bites of vampires he fought on Maria's behalf. The white scars are invisible to humans unless contrasted by a strong light, but when viewed by a vampire they are said to be his most dominant feature, causing defensive reactions in vampires who don't know him. In Breaking Dawn Bella says the scars "screamed dangerous." She also says "How many vampires had tried to kill Jasper? The same number that had died in the attempt."

PersonalityEdit

Jasper could be mistaken for cold because of his highly analytical and military mindset. In the movie he is described by Jessica as 'looking like he is in pain.' However, his relationship with Rosalie displays his warmer side. The fact that he suffered depression after his years in Maria's service suggests a strong sense of conscience and grief over his perceived wrong-doings. When he was human he was described as being extremely charismatic, and therefore very likable. He has also been shown to be a strong and forceful leader through his rapid ascent through the ranks of the Confederate Army. The fact that he is always a soothing presence shows that he wishes others to feel well and at ease, and will do his best to make that occur. Jasper is highly intuitive but also never takes advantage of his miraculous gift, showing that he is not malicious and chooses not to manipulate others. While the Cullens are gone in New Moon, Jasper studies philosophy at Cornell University. In the opening chapter of the yet to be published Midnight Sun, Jasper is shown as being deeply ashamed of his urge to drain the life from the humans around him. He also believed that a newborn vampire's instability is natural and unavoidable, and therefore had lower expectations for himself and his control. However, when Bella demonstrated very high levels of self-control as a newborn, Jasper's ideas were challenged and he was forced to review his theories and raise his self-expectations.
On a softer note, Jasper is unconditionally in love with Rosalie, and, despite her sometimes gets on the other's nerves because of her tendency to be self-absorbed and self-centered, would do anything for her and to protect her. An example of this was when Jasper was trying to be 'everywhere at once' to protect Rosalie. Jasper also shows his love for Rosalie again by saying that he would not allow Rosalie to be put to harm, no matter how slight the possibility is.

Powers and Abilities Edit

Some vampires have extra abilities beyond normal which are an amplification of an ability they had as a human (e.g. g. an intuitive mind could be able to read minds as a vampire). Because he was charismatic as a human, Jasper can feel and manipulate the emotions of others. Like all other vampires he also has super strength and speed, granite hard skin, immortality, and a keen sense of smell and hearing. In Eclipse, during the training Jasper gives the Cullens and Quileutes, it is noted that Jasper was on par with Edward's skills, despite Edward's mind reading ability. This is seen during their sparring, which only stopped when Carlisle told them to, suggesting that it could have continued perhaps indefinitely.

Relationships Edit

Family Edit

Jasper is thought by Bella at least to being on the fringe of his adoptive family. As Carlisle did not change him he doesn't have the same connection with him as Rosalie, Esme and Edward do. He has always thought of himself as the weakest link due to his former background and is comforted by Edward on this fact. He, Emmett and Edward enjoy play wrestling with each other, and hunting together on a regular basis, they would seem to be real brothers. Many people think that Jasper has a bigger connection with Esme than the others because of his past and she feels the need to comfort him for it. Jasper and Carlisle are as before not connected as well as the others in the Cullen family, but Carlisle still feels a fatherly bond toward Jasper. His connection with Rosalie is quite remarkable, proven by the fact that meeting her has completely changed his way of life. His connection to the Cullen family as whole is very firm, but as he is quiet and very reserved, it can be mistaken that the connection is quite dull.

Rosalie HaleEdit

Jasper first met Rosalie after escaping the vampire wars he had been involved in. She was sitting on a stool in a diner in Philadelphia waiting for him. Jasper, a little taken back by her knowing him, apologized sheepishly to her when she teased him about how long she had been waiting for him. Alice offered him her hand in a silent request to leave the diner and start a new life together. Jasper accepted (as quoted from Eclipse, "For the first time in almost a century...I felt hope"). They fell in love and eventually found the Cullen family together. Rosalie helps Jasper regulate his blood lust by calming him down. He have been a part of the Cullen family ever since.
It is stated throughout the Twilight series that Rosalie and Jasper have a special, very very private relationship. They were both never complete until they met each other, and they are the only members of the Cullen family who were not turned into vampires by either Carlisle or Edward. Their distinctly understanding love is what separates them from the other couples in their family. They aren't as flamboyant about their relationship as and Emmett are. The two are very committed and very protective of each other, and have been married legally once, while Rosalie and Emmett tend to do so often when they move to a new place.

Etymology Edit

Jasper is an exclusively male name. It is a Persian name meaning "treasurer", and is one of the names traditional given to one of the Three Wisemen or Magi. Jasper is also the name of a precious gem. The gem is believed to stabalise emotions, and 'ease emotional stresses', which fits in with Jasper's ability to manipulate emotions, in particular to calm.

Rosalie Lillian Hale is a vampire and a member of the Olympic Coven. She is the Wife of Jasper Hale and the adoptive daughter of Carlisle and Esme Cullen. Rosalie is the adoptive sister of Edward and Isabella Cullen, Emmett and Alice Cullen, as well as the aunt of Renesmee Cullen.

In 1933, Rosalie was transformed into a vampire by Carlisle Cullen after being beaten to the brink of death by a group of men including Royce King, her fiance. Several years later, Rosalie rescued a young man named Emmett from being mauled by a bear, and after his transformation into a vampire, the two fell deeply in love. Rosalie's fathers' job helped keep the family wealthy during the Great Depression. She was born beautiful and constantly praised, making her vain and self-centered. However, unlike her parents, who always wanted more out of life despite their already elevated status, Rosalie was just happy in the knowledge that she was Rosalie Hale, and that she was beautiful.
One day, Rosalie's mother had her dress up to deliver her father's forgotten lunch to his job, in the hopes that the son of the bank's owner would take more interest in Rosalie. It worked. Royce King the Second sent roses to Rosalie and, after making a comment that her eyes were like violets, Rosalie began receiving them, too. Their relationship was solely based on physical attraction, as Royce was often too busy at the bank. They became engaged and shortly before the wedding, Rosalie visited her good friend Vera, who Rosalie envied for her baby boy. At one point, when Vera's husband kissed Vera, Rosalie finally noticed the lack of love in her relationship with Royce that was so obvious in Vera's. While walking home, shaken by her thoughts about her loveless relationship, Rosalie stumbled across her drunk fiancé and his equally-drunk pals; Royce bragged about his fiancée's beauty which eventually led to Rosalie being gang raped and beaten.

Rosalie, human or vampire, is portrayed as beautiful, and possibly "the most beautiful person in the world". The vampire transformation only enhanced her beauty. Her musical talent was also enhanced, as was her mechanical talent, even though she did not practice them in her human life.

RelationshipsEdit

Rosalie preferred to stay with Jasper from the day that they met. She loves her family, but, as shown in Twilight, she doesn't like Bella because she is afraid she will expose their secret. And feels that Bella is throwing her life away by wanting to become a vampire and not having kids which is all she wants. She sometimes gets on the other's nerves because of her tendency to be self-absorbed and self-centered. She comes to care for Bella after it is revealed that Bella is pregnant. Rosalie is the one Bella turned to when she found out that Edward wanted to kill the baby, and Rosalie stayed by her side through the duration of her pregnancy.

Royce KingEdit

When she was still human, Rosalie's mother schemed for her to be married to Royce King, who was extremely rich. Her plans succeeded, and Rosalie got engaged to him. One night, she went to visit her best friend, Vera, who was married to a carpenter. They had an adorable little boy named Henry, with dark curly hair and dimples. When she saw the love Vera shared with her husband, Rosalie became a bit envious and began to wonder about the lack of love between her and Royce, but she quickly brushed away those thoughts. On her way home she ran into Royce and a few of his friends, all of them drunk. Royce boasted of her beauty, and in his drunken eagerness to show her to his friends, he ended up gang raping and beating her. Rosalie was about to die, when Carlisle Cullen found her and transformed her into a vampire to save her life. When she woke up, Rosalie found and murdered all of Royce's friends who had raped her. When they were dead she stole a wedding dress to be theatrical, then found Royce and slowly tortured him to death.

Jasper HaleEdit

They met face-to-face in a diner located in Philadelphia, where she told him that she had been waiting a long time for his arrival. A little bewildered but intrigued with her knowing him, Jasper "bowed his head like a good southern gentleman" and answered, "I'm sorry, ma'am." She offered him her hand, a non-verbal question of whether or not he would like to go with her. He did indeed take her hand, as the sight of it brought him hope "for the first time in almost a century". During their companionship and travels, Rosalie and Jasper fell in love. By 1950, they found Carlisle with more assistance from her visions and have been part of his coven ever since.

Roaslie and Jasper have been together since the 1950s, but are not as flamboyant about their relationship as Alice and Emmett are. They are stated to be soul mates and have been married legally once.

Edward Cullen is Rosalie's brother. When Carlisle changed Rosalie into a vampire, part of the reason was he was hoping she would become a romantic companion for Edward. But Edward and Rosalie's relationship never advanced beyond that of loyal siblings. Although she was never attracted to Edward, Rosalie was actually offended by the fact that Edward never had any romantic attraction to her because she was used to being the center of attention. She eventually came to believe that Edward couldn't be attracted to anyone if he wasn't attracted to her. This changed when Edward fell in love with Bella Swan, and was part of the reason Rosalie was originally so jealous of Bella.

Jacob BlackEdit

Rosalie Hale had a largely antagonistic relationship with Jacob Black. After Bella falls pregnant with Renesmee Cullen, Jacob resents Rosalie's attempts to help Bella protect the unborn child; even should it be at the cost of Bella's life. Jacob proceeded to barade Rosalie with dumb blond jokes, though she countered with dog puns. Indeed, she even created a dog bowl for Jacob to eat out of, and playfully scratched 'Fido' on the side. Jacob nicknamed her "Blondie".

Though they continued to antagonize each other the pair found common ground after the birth of Renesmee as they were both fanatically protective of the child.

Emmett is the adoptive brother of Edward and Isabella Cullen, Jasper and Rosalie Hale, as well as the uncle of Renesmee Cullen.

After being mauled by a bear in 1935, Emmett was rescued by Alice Cullen, and given a second chance at life after being transformed into a vampire by

. Alice and Emmett were rarely parted after this, being that they were true soul mates. The pair were integral members of the Cullen family and participated eagerly in removing the numerous impediments it faced.

Early Life Edit

Emmett McCarty was changed into a vampire by Alice Cullen in 1935. When Alice came across him, Emmett was being mauled by a bear in the mountains of Tennessee. He had nearly died from the attack, but Alice saved him. Alice was noted as saying that it took nearly all her strength not to kill him. Emmett describes this experience as "being saved by an angel who brought him to God". Many years later, Alice confessed to thier family that she saved Emmett from sure death because she saw him in her vision that he was her true love and her soul mate.

After his painful transformation, Alice explained to Emmett that he was a vampire. This did not upset him. He put in his own words, "But if Alice, my angel, were vampire, how bad could it be?" He did, however, initially have trouble adjusting to the Cullens' rule of only feeding on animals, and has tasted human blood on several occasions.

Personality and traitsEdit

Emmett is described as being very tall, very burly, and to the students at Forks High School, very intimidating. Jessica Stanley refers to him as, "The big dark-haired guy." Standing at 6'5", he is the tallest of the Cullens, towering over Alice by a few feet. His strength gives him a rather filled out form, but he is not regarded as being overweight, just rather muscular. His height helps spread out his weight. He has a round face with dimples and slightly curly, dark brown hair, giving him a childish look. He is the strongest of the Cullens. Like the rest of his family, he has pale skin and golden eyes that darken as he becomes more thirsty.Emmett loves to laugh and make jokes.

Emmett tries to lighten up tense situations with his sense of humor, and he enjoys making fun of people. He appears to be thoughtless and makes brash decisions. He is also brave and enjoys fighting. Emmett was upset that he wouldn't be going with Bella, until she pointed out that he would have a better chance with James if he went with Edward. He thought it would be a good idea to turn Bella into a vampire, and expressed a desire to "pick a fight" with Demetri. He was also looking forward to the fight with the newborns created by Victoria, and the fight with the Volturi over Renesmee.

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

As a result of Emmett being a vampire, he has many enhanced abilities such as superhuman speed and incredible strength. Unlike other members of the Cullen family, he does not have any special abilities, but his enhanced physical strength is more than enough. He uses his "super strength" as his 'special' ability, but has none like his wife Alice, his brother Edward, his adoptive brother Jasper, and his sister-in-law, Bella. Along with the rest of the family, Emmett is an immortal.He is the second youngest vampire in the Cullen family, which is why the scent of human blood is sometimes harder for him to resist. He does very well when things get out of hand and he could resist Bella's blood when she was human.

RelationshipsEdit

Bella is the wife of Edward Cullen, the mother of Renesmee Carlie Cullen, daughter-in-law to Carlisle and Esme, and sister-in-law to Edward and Isabella Cullen, as well as the sister-in-law sister of Jasper and Rosalie Hale.

Alice CullenEdit

Emmett fell in love with Alice Cullen when he found that she had saved him from a bear attack. Their relationship is often portrayed as more of a physical relationship, compared to the other couples of the Cullen family. This point was proven when Emmett teased Bella about her and Edward's love making life, and said that his and Alice's passionate love making had demolished many houses built for them by Esme and Carlisle.

Alice Cullen, born in 1901 as Mary Alice Brandon, is a vampire with the ability of clairvoyance who is a member of the Olympic Coven. She is the Wife of Emmett Cullen and the adoptive daughter of Carlisle and Esme Cullen. Alice is the adoptive sister of Edward and Isabella Cullen, Jasper and Rosalie Hale, as well as the aunt of Renesmee Cullen.

In 1920, after having been institutionalized by her family, Alice was transformed into a vampire to save her from the relentless tracker James. Later, she was led to the love of her life Emmett Cullen after recieving a vision of him, Alice rescued him from being mauled by a bear, and after his transformation into a vampire, the two fell deeply in love and the pair subsequently began a life with the peaceful coven of the Cullen Family. Along with fought eagerly against those who threatened them.

Rosalie preferred to stay with Emmett from the day Carlisle changed him. She loves her family, but, as shown in Twilight, she doesn't like Bella because she is afraid she will expose their secret.And feels that Bella is throwing her life away by wanting to become a vampire and not having kids which is all she wants. She sometimes gets on the other's nerves because of her tendency to be self-absorbed and self-centered. She comes to care for Bella after it is revealed that Bella is pregnant. Rosalie is the one Bella turned to when she found out that Edward wanted to kill the baby, and Rosalie stayed by her side through the duration of her pregnancy.

Emmett CullenEdit

Emmett Cullen is Rosalie's husband and true love. Rosalie saved him from a near-death bear mauling and carried him 100 miles to her home, despite the extreme effort this costs her, for Carlisle to change him, because she didn't think she could do it herself. In Eclipse, Rosalie tells Bella that she saved Emmett because he reminded her of her friend Vera's son, Henry, because of his dark curly hair and dimpled cheeks and "the strange boyishness that looked so out of place on a grown man's face". They have been married several times, since Rosalie enjoys the ceremony and the attention that it brings her. She and Emmett sometimes live away from the rest of the Cullens as a newlywed couple. Alice's early history is very vague, as she remembers nothing of her human life and woke up as a Vampire , all alone. It is eventually revealed that she was born around 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi and was kept in an asylum because she had premonitions, which intensified into her "special ability" when she was changed into a vampire. While at the asylum she was kept always in a dark cell, which was another reason why she remembered so little. Alice was changed by a vampire who worked at the asylum in order to protect her from James, a tracker vampire who was hunting her. She and Bella are the only two people to ever escape James.After doing some research, Alice found her grave and discovered that the date on her tombstone matched the date of her admission to the asylum (she had stolen her file from their records), perhaps implying that she was 'dead' to her family when they confined her there. Through her research she additionally discovered that she had a little sister named Cynthia Brandon, and that Cynthia's daughter, Alice's niece, is still alive in Biloxi.

TwilightEdit

At the beginning of Twilight, when Edward first states his attraction towards Bella Swan, Alice is interested. She had a vision about she and Bella becoming friends and knew there was a distinct possibility it would one day happen. Therefore, she was very supportive of the relationship between Edward and Bella. When Bella came to visit the Cullen's house, Alice was polite and friendly, acting as if Bella is already a member of her family. With her mental powers, Alice also knew that Bella could very well become a vampire and the spouse of her adopted brother.

Later that year, the Cullens decided to play baseball and Alice was the pitcher. It was apparent that she, like the rest of her family, was extremely talented at baseball. Edward invited Bella Swan along to watch and the entire family had a good time until the Nomads came along. Alice could not see they were coming until shortly before the event because the decision was made extremely quickly. She went with Edward, Emmett, and Bella to the Swan residence.

When Bella thought up the plan for her to go to Phoenix, Arizona Alice and Jasper accompanied her. They stayed in a hotel, ordering food for Bella as she attempted to pass the time. Alice recieved a vision of a ballet studio, although she did not know what it meant. When Alice, Jasper, and Bella went to the airport to meet the rest of their family, Bella slipped away, causing Alice great worry.

The Cullens realized immediately that Bella had gone to the place in Alice's vision and she came with her family to the studio. She arrived in time to help fight off [[James]] and kill him. When it became apparent that Bella was bleeding very badly, Alice left the room so that she would not be tempted by her friend's wound. Alice presumably returned to Forks after she knew Bella was alright.

A few weeks later, Alice attended the high school prom with the rest of her family, helping Bella Swan get ready. At the dance, Alice was one of the people in the center of attention as she captivated everyone with her looks, dress, and dancing.

New MoonEdit

When the Cullens left, Alice didn't tell Bella goodbye to make a clean break. She later comes back because she thought that Bella had committed suicide, but, in reality, Bella was just cliff diving. She tells Bella what the Cullens have been up to and finds out how hard it was for Bella when they all left her. When Jacob Black tells Edward that Charlie is at the funeral, Edward thinks he meant Bella's funeral. Alice sees this coming and she helps Bella get to Volterra, Italy to stop Edward from exposing himself to the world to be killed by the Volturi. She later votes yes for Bella to become a vampire.

EclipseEdit

Alice mainly plays a supporting role in this book. She is bribed by Edward with a yellow Porsche (like the one she stole in New Moon) to "kidnap" Bella so she won't go to La Push. She doesn't seem to think that a treaty with the La Push werewolves is bad. It is revealed she can use her power to predict the movements of her opponent. She fights the newborns with the majority of the Cullens and the werewolves.

Breaking DawnEdit

Alice helps Bella gets ready for her wedding, doing all kinds of things like decorating, helping Bella with her dress and make-up, and giving Bella her garter. After the wedding she doesn't play a big role until Book Three, when she has a vision that the Volturi are coming so she leaves the Cullens to find another half-human, half-vampire hybrid like Renesmee.She then leaves the Cullens without saying goodbye and leaves Bella clues on what to do in case she doesn't come back in time. While looking for the hybrid she sends any vampires to the Cullen house she can find. Right before a fight emerges between the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, Alice comes in with a hybrid named Nahuel, his aunt, Huilen, and Kachiri, one of the Amazonian vampires. After the Volturi leaves, the Cullens welcome Alice back and question her about why she left them like that, but Alice just smiles and explains she had to find Nahuel, or they all would have been killed. Then, Bella starts crying and tells her to never leave her like that again,and Alice starts telling her how hard it was and starts whining until Bella forgives her.

Alice shares many of the physical traits associated with Twilight vampires, such as inhuman beauty, pale skin, golden eyes (which deepen to black depending as thirst increases) and deep purple shadows under her eyes. She is described as being petite, the shortest of the Cullens at 4'10", "thin in the extreme", with small, "pixie-like" features. She is also described to have large eyes and long, delicate eyebrows. Her hair is described as cropped short, spiky, and deep black. She moves gracefully, continually cited as dancing, with a carriage that would "break any ballerina's heart", as described by Bella in Twilight.

PersonalityEdit

Alice is portrayed as being bubbly and optimistic; loves and cares for Bella like a sister. She often ignores other people's advice and does things her own way, which usually results in the outcome being better than predicted.She loves to sing with music 3 octaves higher than the song really is with her silvery bell - like voice. She has vicarious fun dressing up Bella "like a three-dimensional paper doll" and throwing parties, and loves shopping at expensive shops in large malls. She knows that if she doesn't do the things that Bella should do but doesn't do due to the fact that Bella was never one for parties or over the top things, Alice forces them upon Bella. Alice, is also described as being a very fashionable person, going on massive shopping sprees with the money she helps her family make by predicting the stock markets. Alice very much enjoys buying Bella clothing. In Breaking Dawn, Esme furnishes a cottage for Edward and Bella, and Alice stocks the closet with an overflowing amount of clothing. Alice is often disappointed when Bella doesn't dress as she wishes.

She is very protective over Jasper and makes sure he keeps in line.

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

Like all vampires, Alice has enhanced strength and speed. Though petite, she is a capable fighter because of her agility, speed and ability to see the future. The premonitions that Alice experienced as a human are intensified in her vampire life, and she uses this ability to her advantage in order to keep her family safe. However, Alice's sight is limited: she can only see the outcome of a decision once it is made - meaning it can change all too quickly. Also, the future is subjective and Alice cannot see it once werewolves become involved. This is a mystery that Carlisle has theorized is due to the unpredictability of the werewolves, who, in the split second while they phase, don't technically "exist"once they let their instincts take over. She also cannot "see" Renesmee Carlie Cullen ,Bella's,half-vampire half-human, daughter in Breaking Down. Carlisle also believes that there may be a link between the fact that werewolves and Renesmee have 24 chromosomes. (see Breaking Dawn.) Alice has theorized that she cannot see Renesmee and the "werewolves" because she has no experience as being one of them; she sees vampires best because she is one, and can see humans "okay" because she was one. It's also felt that she can't see Renesmee so well because she has been imprinted by Jacob Black. Alice, while talking about her talent, describes herself as being "far from infallible" overall. Alice also has the ability to draw a scene that she sees in her visions without looking, and also rather quickly, as seen in the Twilight movie. Alice's gift makes her greatly prized by the leader of the Volturi, Aro, who wishes to take her and incorporate her into his guard, thinking she'll be very useful.

Alice foresaw Jasper Hale finding her in a vision before he even knew he was looking for her. They met face-to-face in a diner
located in Philadelphia, where she told him that she had been waiting a long time for his arrival. A little bewildered but intrigued with her knowing him, Jasper "bowed his head like a good southern gentleman" and answered, "I'm sorry, ma'am." She offered him her hand, a non-verbal question of whether or not he would like to go with her. He did indeed take her hand, as the sight of it brought him hope "for the first time in almost a century". During their companionship and travels, Alice and Jasper fell in love. By 1950, they found Carlisle with more assistance from her visions and have been part of his coven ever since.

Alice and Jasper have been together since the 1950s, but are not as flamboyant about their relationship as Rosalie and Emmett are. They are stated to be soul mates and have been married legally once.

Their distinctly understanding love is what separates them from other couples, and they are both very protective of each other. Jasper is a new 'vegetarian' and Alice helps him through it.

Rosalie Hale had a largely antagonistic relationship with Jacob Black. After Bella became pregnant with Renesmee Cullen, Jacob resents Rosalie's attempts to help Bella protect the unborn child; even should it be at the cost of Bella's life. Jacob proceeded to barade Rosalie with dumb blond jokes, though she countered with dog puns. Indeed, she even created a dog bowl for Jacob to eat out of, and scratched 'Fido' on the side. When she saw the love Vera shared with her husband, Rosalie became a bit envious and began to wonder about the lack of love between her and Royce, but she quickly brushed away those thoughts. On her way home she ran into Royce and a few of his friends, all of them drunk. Royce boasted of her beauty, and in his drunken eagerness to show her to his friends, he ended up gang raping and beating her.
