Description
Edit
Molly Hather is a female human with ivory skin, brown hair, and light gray eyes. She is 5'5, and looks a lot like her mother, Ruth.
Appearances
Edit
Paw of the Wolf
Molly makes a broad appearance in Paw of the Wolf. Her role is major, and is first seen among the dark trees of Night Park, where Molly makes an interesting discovery. A huge wolf print the size of her head is in the freshly fallen snow. Taking a photograph of it, she takes it to her mother, a biologist who studies the flora and fauna in Night Park. She's intrigued to find out that it's a wolf print. For the next week, she spends more time at the park, always alone without anyone, and wanders around in the woods to see if she can find the wolf. Eventually however, Molly calls it quits and returns to her normal, hated everyday life. It is then revealed that she doesn't have any friends, and is the prize subject for teachers to compliment, as Molly is a great student. When spring comes around, Molly begins to think that the paw of the wolf was a hoax, and instead spends time trying to get away from the frequent dreams that she's been having. In one dream, she imagines herself in the park and sees the wolf at last as an exceptionally large, black wolf with intelligent tawny colored eyes. From then on, she has a renewed curiosity in her search, and three days after having the dream, finally gathers up the courage to find this mysterious wolf, whom she has started to call "Remus", in honor of the werewolf in the Harry Potter series, who had died in battle. Going into the woods, she finally sees the wolf, exactly like it was in her dream. Big, furry, and black. The wolf nearly attacks Molly, but turns into a human once more, introducing himself as Tobias. After this little introduction, he imprints on Molly. Molly suddenly starts to feel close to him, and is unsure why. After seeing the wolf morph, she's in shock, and faints after the imprint. The stranger brings Molly back to her home, and leaves her on the couch, before briskly departing. When she wakes up, Molly finds her mother, Ruth on top of her, scared for her daughter's life. When asked what's wrong, Molly replies that she took a walk in the park, saw something strange, and came back, falling asleep on the couch, because she was way too tired to go up to her bedroom. Ms. Hather is doubtful, but doesn't push Molly for answers that would be very difficult for the girl to explain. Because of the Imprint, Molly feels driven to be with Tobias, but is also concerned about why she would be thinking about the werewolf at all. The story ends here, giving way to start the explanation between both.
Personality
Edit
Molly is rather intelligent and curious, and rational, but doesn't seem to have any friends. She enjoys spending time with her mother, and is seen as family oriented. However, when rushing into situations that present a danger to her, Molly is seen as thick headed. Her most notable trait is thoughtfulness, as she is seen being helpful to fellow classmates, even though they don't like her, and worrying about those more unfortunate than her.
Family Relationships
Edit
Ruth Hather- Molly and her mother are unusually close as mother and daughter, and both like hanging out together. However, they disagree on many things, leading to an eventual rift between the two as the story goes on. Molly hates lying to her mother, but does it repeatedly so that Ruth (or Dr. Hather) doesn't get too worried by her daughter. Both frequently bond and then disbond, almost always getting into fights when they disagree about something serious. Ruth is very protective of Molly, and tries to keep her daughter safe without any risky choices, but Molly continually resists the chains to have freedom in making her own life choices. Ruth once mentions that her duaghter is a combination of fire and ice, calm, yet also trying to run without any ropes to tie her down. Molly feels that her mother is too bleak, and says that her mother's mood is like an eclipse "dark and light at the same time."
Relationships
Edit
Tobias Lobo Carolln- She and Tobias's relationship is new, as both didn't know each other until around the end of the story, though Tobias was always watching over her as a secret guardian, and loathed himself for this, because traditionally, werewolves were supposed to stay away from humans and keep their lives a secret. A rule which he broke.
