On the first page of the book, Hardwicke, says "In January of 2007, I bought a copy of Twilight - and devoured it. This is a photo of how my book looks now: dozens of post-its, underlined passages, hundreds of highlighted favorite lines with notes like "this has to be in the movie!" My challenge was to translate this to film. How to take Stephenie's powerful emotions - delirious, obsessive, hypnotic, profound love and put that on screen. Make you feel what she makes you feel when you read her novels - when you let yourself get swept away with Bella and Edward ... when you imagine the Cullens - a vegetarian vampire clan living secretly in the Pacific rain forest ... full of ancient tree trunks covered in moss and ground covered in ferns. And fog - always deep, thick mysterious fog. In this book, I try to show fans and aspiring film-makers the process that my crew and I went through while making Twilight. Catherine."

In every page there are color photos with annotations.
