Steve was a newborn vampire in the Seattle newborn army whom Riley had told the rest of the army was "lost to the sun", along with another newborn vampire named Shelly. In truth, Steve and Shelly fell in love and discovered that the sun could not harm vampires and fled the army together. He and Shelly are currently living a nomadic lifestyle.
