Steve was a vampire from the Seattle newborn army who was "lost to the sun", along with another newborn vampire named Shelly. In truth, Steve and Shelly fell in love and discovered that the sun could not harm vampires and fled the army together. He and Shelly are currently living a nomadic lifestyle.
