Stefan is a vampire of the Romanian Coven. He has black hair and dresses in all black. He seeks revenge on the Volturi, and despises them greatly and entirely.

Stefan and Vladimir show up uninvited to the Cullen household in Breaking Dawn hoping that the contoversy caused by Renesmee will finally destroy the Volturi. However, their hopes don't falter throughout the book. During the month that the Romanian coven "witnesses" Renesmee, Bella has a certain aversion to having Renesmee being around the Romanians, for fear that they, too, are just like the Volturi, with their pasty-white skin and red eyes. However, Bella notices that Stefan's and Vladimir's eyes are not filmed over as the Volturi's, but she does not inquire about this fearing that is would be rude. It is Renesmee who eventually asks and the vampires reply by saying something about "not sleeping", and that the Volturi did something that they didn't, which is why they have filmed over eyes.
Renesmee is said as having enjoyed the Romanian's company.
