History

Rosalie Flashback 2

Royce with his fiancée Rosalie

His family was one of the richest in town, due to his father owning a bank. Rosalie caught his eye when she brought lunch to her father at his work, which happened to be the bank Royce's family owned. He began courting her and gave her bouquets of flowers; violets because he thought they matched her eyes and roses for her name. Shortly after, Royce proposed to Rosalie and she accepted not knowing he only truly loved her for her beauty.

After visiting her friend Vera, her son, Henry, and husband one night, Rosalie was on her way home when she heard drunken laughter coming from a group of men. They were Royce and his friends. He bragged to them how beautiful Rosalie was and they wanted him to show them. When he did the men ganged up on her. Beaten and raped, Rosalie was left for dead in the street.

Death

Shortly after this attack on Rosalie, Carlisle Cullen found Rosalie lying in the street, close to death. To save her life, he transforms her into a vampire. After discovering her immense, inhuman power, she steals a wedding dress and brutally murders Royce's friends. Saving Royce for last, she donned her new dress and found Royce locked in a windowless room with a thick, vault-like door guarded by two men. Killing the guards, Rosalie entered the room where she tortured Royce to death. Although his blood was spilled, Rosalie did not taste one drop. Proud of what she had done, she ran away before the police came.
