Rebecca Black is a Quileute woman. Her twin sister is named Rachel, her younger brother is Jacob, her father Billy, and her mother Sarah, who died in a car crash many years ago. Rebecca married an unnamed Samoan surfer when she was eighteen and moved to Hawaii, partially to get away from her mother's memory. Jacob, no matter how much he misses his sister, only mentions her a handful of times.

Etymology

Rebecca means "to tie" and "beautiful" in Hebrew. The Black family's name origins seemed to be connected since Rebecca was the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau in the Old Testament, Rachel's niece and Sarah's great-granddaughter.
