Stewart was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.[1] Stewart currently lives in Woodland Hills in Los Angeles, California. In a 2008 interview with Vanity Fair, Stewart stated that she was dating actor Michael Angarano, her co-star from the movie Speak. Her father, John Stewart (not to be confused with The Daily Show's Jon Stewart), is a stage manager and television producer who worked for FOX.[2] Her mother is a scriptwriter who comes from Australia.[1][3] She has an older brother, Cameron. She currently lives with her family in Los Angeles. Stewart attended school until the seventh grade, and then continued her education by correspondence.[1]
