Immortal children

Introduced in the novel Breaking Dawn, the immortal children were human infants and toddlers who were transformed into vampires. The immortal children were said to be beautiful to look at. They were also loved by anyone and everyone who saw them. They were frozen at whatever developmental state they were turned at, so without rational thinking they couldn't control their thirst. The Volturi deemed them an immediate threat because they couldn't be controlled. Aro even took time to study them to see if they could learn to control themselves but, sadly they couldn't. Many covens fought to keep their children but the Volturi was not so easily defeated. Sasha, the mother of Kate, Irina, and Tanya created one of these beings named Vasiili, and was consequently killed by the Volturi because of the infraction--the sisters were only spared because of their complete ignorance of the situation.
