It was confirmed on Decmeber 9, 2008 it was confirmed that Catherine Hardwicke would not direct New Moon or Eclipse. Instead, director Chris Weitz was to direct New Moon, and possibly Eclipse. Summit is also considering filming New Moon and Eclipse back to back with Chris remaining as the director.[1]
