Dean was a newborn vampire in the Seattle newborn army.

When Riley, their caretaker, walked in on the newborns with newly burned ashes in the basement, he flew into a rage and attacked some of the members. Dean was smacked into the entertainment center. He was killed in the battle against the Cullens and the Quileute wolves.
